on alcohol and experiments
Note to self: When making a chocolate martini out of "sample" bottles, just stick with the Absolut Vanilla and the chocolate liqueur. No matter how much you think adding the caramel liqueur will add to the martini, please refrain. Too much alcohol, the flavors are too muddled. It's good, but not as good as just sticking with the original two ingredients would have been. If you need caramel, stick to caramel sauce drizzled down the side of the glass.

...That was fun to type with all the typos. No it's not the alcohol as I've only had a few sips of it. Yes I'm going to finish my drink. I hope it doesn't overpower me. I'm just starting to build up my tolerance.

Update: Hokay. I think the alcohol is setting in. I drank it relatively quickly. My anal-retentive brain is still making me erase any typos I have (so far in typing this sentence I've made only 2 3). I read "STNG" (Star Trek: Next Generation) as "Sting" and thought "WTF? Data/Feyd?" Yes, I'm a dork of the worst kind. The kind that's a dork but not quite a geek.

Maybe being the tiniest bit tipsy buzzed will help me actually go to sleep tonight before dawn. I can hope. It's really really hot tonight, because it was 99 degrees here today. And I'm going to see PotC:DMC tomorrow. No, I don't expect anything other than to be entertained.

In other news, I'm not doing anything dumb or getting morose or angry or anything. Just laughing at shit I would normally grin at, but not giggle or laugh. Maybe it was a bad idea to read [info]metaquotes when I'm tired and just had a drink I just kinda made up as I went.

Jabberwocky
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
