PS: I love it how everyone's like, "well, if you're not planning on trying to get it published, what are you going to DO with it when you're done? What's the point?" It's like they don't understand doing something for the accomplishment of DOING it. I wish I had a true cheerleader. But no. My boyfriend's in the "what are you going to do with it?" camp, and my two friends at school are both WAY behind me in wordcount (500 and 0) so they're both like "shut it." Gah. Cheerleaders would be very nice. (Oh, and my dad? I'm trying to make him forget it...he wants to read it, but there's stuff in there that I'm not comfortable with him reading. Like, a gay couple. And possibly sex. Straight sex, but still sex. And with the gay? It's not that...well...mleh. I'm comfy with gay people. He's gay. I'm just not comfy with him reading my writing about gay people.)

My GOD the words flew (for me) tonight! 2500 in an hour and twenty minutes! Of course, I just had my protagonist meet the man of her dreams (though not literally...Jovan's not a redhead, for one. I think. I could be wrong.)

I'm starting to get into the action of the story, and the words are coming a little faster. I have a small idea of what I want to happen in the next few pages, and with each page I write I have a little inkling of "oh, that'd be cool...just not right away" and then I have to figure out how to delay it. Yeah.

So I know it's technically the fourth now and that I wrote the majority of the third's word count after midnight, but I don't care. Counting it as the third. I'm on count: roughly 1800/day.

Also? My story is starting to roll. Once I got going tonight, it just flew; only stuck in a few spots. I'm worried, though, that I might run out of story before I run out of words/days. Ah, well. We'll see what happens when we get there. I'm already delaying something as long as possible because I haven't figured that part out yet. (one of my protags got taken by the palace guards, and now his two best friends are off to "rescue" him...but I don't quite know yet why he was wanted. Other than his magick. Yeah. If you want to read my crap, let me know and I'll email you.)

I'm not actually using chapters. Just creating double-spaced lines where I'm done with a scene. Yeah. I have no clue how to chapterize without writing vignettes.

Also? I have the awesomest place names:
-For my town (or at least, the first I've come to yet): Cidade MinĂºscula Pela Estrade das Montanhas do Troll (hint: it's Portuguese, and very accurately describes my town)
-For the tavern in the town (Santa Cruz people, this is for you): Taza Fea (hint: this time, it's just plain Spanish, I think)

Yes, I'm a dork. And I wish I could translate my town name into Gaelic or Welsh...if anyone knows of a free online English->Gaelic or English->Welsh translator, please direct me to it!

Um.. So my novel's taken a turn without signaling, within the first five minutes of writing. I think things may get interesting.

Jabberwocky
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

-Lewis Carrol, 1871
